Prioritizing Healthy, Clear Vision
At Kemperas Eyecare, your eye health is our priority. We understand that as we age, our eyes change too. These changes can be both normal and progressive, requiring adjustments to maintain clear vision and overall eye health.
That’s why we offer comprehensive adult and senior eye exams tailored to address the unique needs of each age group. Many eye diseases can progress silently in their early stages, and regular eye exams allow our team to detect potential problems early.
So don’t put off scheduling your next eye exam—contact us to schedule your appointment and get the peace of mind that comes with regular eye exams.
Request AppointmentThe Importance of Regular Eye Exams
The American Optometric Association (AOA) recommends the following schedule for adult and senior eye exams:
- Adults (20–54 years old): An eye exam every 2–3 years.
- Adults (55–64 years old): An eye exam every 1–2 years.
- Adults (65 years and older): An annual eye exam.
More frequent exams may be recommended based on your individual needs or different risk factors.
Going Beyond the Basics
Our eye exams are anything but cookie-cutter. We take the time to listen to your concerns and perform a detailed examination.
Many eye diseases can progress silently in their early stages without any noticeable symptoms. Regular eye exams allow us to detect potential problems early when treatment is most effective. Because of this, we take a detailed approach to getting to know your eyes and vision.
Visual Acuity Testing
We assess your ability to see at near and far distances, using various techniques to determine the best possible correction for your specific needs.
Eye Health Evaluation
We perform a comprehensive examination of your eyes, looking for signs of common age-related conditions like cataracts, which can cloud the lens of the eye, and glaucoma, a condition that damages the optic nerve if left untreated.
The evaluation also includes using OCT scans, which are painless and detailed cross-sectional images of the back of your eye. These allow us to see the retina, macula, and optic nerve in much greater detail than traditional methods.
Discussion of Your Needs
We believe communication is key when it comes to your eye health. Our team takes the time to discuss your overall health, medications, and lifestyle habits, as certain factors like diabetes can increase your risk of developing eye diseases.
We’ll also address any concerns you may have about dry eye, a condition that can cause irritation, discomfort, and blurry vision, or presbyopia, an age-related difficulty focusing on near objects.
